Car Body Styles
The Body style of the Vehicle refers to the shapes and model of particular automobile make. There are many types of car body styles
1 SEDAN
A sedan / saloon is a passenger car in a 3 box configuration with A, B and C pillars. It is generally referred as a 4 door car with seating capacity of 4–5 people. Sedans can vary in size and length but for a car to be called sedan it generally means 4 doors, engine in front and trunk at the back
Example - Honda City, Maruti suzuki Ciaz, Toyota Etios , Swift Dzire Etc.
2 HATCHBACK
A hatchback car is a vehicle that has a large door in the back that swings upward, While many other models also use this type of door, a hatchback car is traditionally looked at as a small coupe- to sedan-size car with a raise-open door in the back instead of a trunk, which usually gives it more storage space.
Example - Tata Altroz , Hyundai I20 , Toyota Liva Etc.
3 Coupe
A coupé or coupe is a passenger car with a sloping or truncated rear roofline and generally two doors (although several four-door cars have also been marketed as coupés). Coupé was first applied to horse-drawn carriages for two passengers without rear-facing seats
Example - Jaguar F type , BMW M8, BMW M2 , Mercedes AMG GT 4 door Coupe Etc
4 SUV
The initials SUV stand for sport utility vehicle but that doesn't really explain a great deal about the car. The first examples were big, rugged machines that were sturdy and fitted with four-wheel drive, which meant that they could travel off-road
Examples - Mahindra XUV 5OO, Mercedes G63 AMG, Hyundai, BMW X1 Etc
5 Crossover
A crossover SUV (CSUV) – also called a crossover utility vehicle (CUV) – is a type of sport utility vehicle (SUV) of unibody construction. ... Compared to truck-based SUVs, they typically have better interior comfort, a more comfortable ride, superior fuel economy, and less off-road capability.
Example - Volvo XC40 Maruti, Suzuki S cross Etc
6 Minivan
Minivan is a van for vehicles designed to transport passengers in the rear seating row(s), with reconfigurable seats in two or three rows.Typically, these have platforms derived from D-segment passenger cars or compact pickups.
Example - Maruti suzuki Eeco , Chevrolet Enjoy Etc
6 Pickup
A pickup truck or pickup is a light truck having an enclosed cab and an open cargo area with low sides and tailgate Today in North America, the pickup is mostly used as a passenger car and for Transportation
Example - Bolero Pickup , Isuzu D Max Etc
